Febrile Antigen Reagents are stained bacterial suspensions designed for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of antibodies in human serum, produced in response to infections caused by Salmonella, Brucella, or Proteus species. When a person is infected with these or other microorganisms, specific antibodies are generated in the bloodstream. Under controlled conditions, mixing these antibodies with their corresponding antigens induces a visible agglutination reaction, observable to the naked eye
